OUR STORY

It all began with designer and automobile enthusiast Randy Gomez's desire to own a trailer. After restoring a few iconic classic cars, vintage Airstreams became his next obsession. His first project—a ’65 Safari—was restored and designed as a modern TV production trailer used for live webcasts (check it out here, full tour at 11:42) and it exceeded all expectations. Next, Randy restored a '55 Flying Cloud, designed as a guest house for a mid-century Hollywood residence. These projects led to the current signature line of vintage trailers which all feature an optimized footprint in order to maximize usable space. All trailer interiors are expertly appointed with polished aluminum and white birch paneling and cabinetry, full kitchens mixing modern appliances with restored porcelain stoves, ovens, and sinks, and era-correct countertops and lighting. From the axle up, Randy and his team of talented craftsmen restore all systems to modern standards utilizing the best materials and equipment available.

OUR PROCESS

"It's all those special little details that really make the restoration complete..." - Randy Gomez

It all starts with that "neglected find" which is brought to the shop where the entire interior is removed and stripped down to the frame and body. The aluminum exterior panels are polished or replaced and new rubber gaskets are installed on the windows and doors. New riveting if needed. The interior at this point is a blank canvas to custom reconfigure the galley, bathroom, and other features. The cabinet design is thought out and templates are made to cut from. A rough-in process takes place locating the wiring and hoses while also installing wood lining on the interior walls and ceilings with white birch. This is when the details start to become important and salvaged parts are fitted and restored to new condition. There are not many straight lines on a vintage travel trailer so everything needs to be custom-made and fitted just right. The fit and finish account for most of the time but are worth it because the customization and quality of our workmanship are what sets us apart.
